Welcome to the registration for 23rd Climb to Zavižan!

We invite all interested cyclists to participate in the recreational cycling race 23rd Climb to Zavižan 2026. (from 0 to 1594 m a.s.l.) which will be held on 20 June 2026. (Saturday) organized by JU NP Northern Velebit, BBK Senj, City of Senj, TZ City of Senj and JU PP Velebit.

Depending on your physical fitness, you can choose between two routes. Start no. 1 is at 0 m a.s.l. in Senj and start no. 2 in the mountain settlement of Krasno, at approximately 800 m a.s.l.

START SENJ
Start 1 is at Pavlinski Square in the center of Senj. The flying start leads through the streets of the city. In the settlement of Trbušnjak, time measurement begins and the race towards the village of Rončević Dolac. This part of the race is on asphalt road and due to the steep climb is quite demanding to ride. From Oltari the route first 250 m goes on asphalt county road towards Krasno after which it turns right onto an asphalt road towards Northern Velebit National Park (approximately 7.5 km) and then from Babić Siče on macadam road (approximately 9 km) and all the way to the last 650 m of the climb on asphalt road to Zavižan Mountain Lodge where the race finish is. The route length is 38 km.

START KRASNO
Start is at the administrative building of the Sj.Velebit national park. The route goes on asphalt road through the settlement of Krasno. At the first next intersection it goes left on the road towards Štirovaća. After 2.3 km it turns right onto a macadam forest road of 10 km in length and joins the road (1 km before Babić Siče) towards Zavižan mountain lodge.

Refreshment stations: Nekići, Oltari (turn towards NP Northern Velebit and Krasno) and Babić Siča (entrance to NP).

8.30 - 10.00	Start number 2 – KRASNO (at the Park administrative building) - participant registration
10.15	Start number 2 / Krasno (800 m a.s.l., route length 22 km)

ENTRY FEE
Entry fee for registration and payment up to and including 15.06.2026. is 30 eur + payment processing fee of 2.10 eur.

On race day the entry fee will be 40 eur. There will be a total of 30 start numbers available for the start from Senj and 20 numbers for the start from Krasno.

Entry fee i.e. start package includes (for registrations and payments up to and including 15.06.2026.):
- right to start in the race
- electronic time measurement with single-use chip 
- start number with ties for attachment 
- race participant t-shirt 
- sponsor gift package 
- quality marked routes on the race course
- transportation of participants' luggage from start to finish (Zavižan mountain lodge)
- volunteers at key intersections along the race route 
- 3 feed zones
- professional emergency medical service on the route and at the finish
- NP entrance for participants (accompanying persons pay entrance fee with discount)
- publication of results after the race 
- voucher for meal after the race

For registrations after 15.06.2026 and on race day we cannot guarantee a complete start package and t-shirt. 

Public Institution Northern Velebit National Park approves a Park entrance ticket with a discount for accompanying race participants with the obligation to state at the Babić Siča Park entrance for which participant's start number the accompanying person is, and to leave the vehicle registration number. Accompanying persons are obliged for safety reasons to leave the vehicle at the official parking lot of the National Park on Zavižan.

In case of race cancellation, paid entry fees will be refunded in full (minus handling fees).

E-bike category and out of competition category are NOT awarded. The organizer will symbolically award the most numerous club.

NOTE!
Pay attention to new traffic regulations through the city of Senj. Along the coast traffic runs one-way from the direction of Rijeka towards Split.

SPECIAL NOTES !!!
- MTB bike and cycling helmet - MANDATORY. 
- Participants who start the race with an E-bike will be listed in separate E-bike results. The same applies to all participants who start the race out of competition which includes all bikes that are not classic MTB or E-bike
- Organizers are committed to providing the route and all other conditions up to 15:00. All participants who fall behind on the route after the specified time will be excluded from the results.
- Due to weather conditions (mountain conditions) and terrain characteristics, race participants are advised to bring sunscreen, appropriate windbreaker in case of rain or wind, as well as portable bicycle tools, pump, spare tubes and the like.
- Race participants ride at their own risk and organizers are not responsible for damage that a cyclist causes to himself or a third party.
The recommended age limit for minors is 14 years with mandatory written consent of parents/guardians.
All competitors under 18 years of age are required to bring a completed written statement from parents/guardians consenting to participation in the race.
Minors under 14 years of age may participate in the race exclusively with the accompaniment of parents/guardians.

- Transportation to start number 2 Krasno participants and accompanying persons arrange themselves.
- The entire route is marked with arrows (especially at all turns).
